15.1.1 LOG_PP_MES_INT_03: Integration of Production Processes with an MES 2 (New) Use As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 6 (SAP_APPL 606), the business function Integration of Production Processes with an MES 2 (LOG_PP_MES_INT_03) is available. You can use this business function to model your manufacturing processes more efficiently and improve the connection to the shop floor. As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 5 (SAP_APPL 605), you can use the Data Replication Framework (DRF) to integrate SAP ERP and a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In the case of both transactional and master data, the creation of a replication model with the appropriate outbound implementation, as well as the fulfillment of the specified filter criteria in the DRF and certain hard-coded filter criteria are prerequisites for the distribution. The following functions are available: -

Maintenance order Through the maintenance order, you can make use of an integration between Enterprise Asset Management and an MES. Planned or unplanned equipment downtimes can be monitored through the maintenance order. If a maintenance order that contains MES-relevant equipment is changed, it is distruted to an MES upon release according to the filter criteria defined in the DRF.

Equipment You can distribute equipment and information to the measuring points to the MES, for example to control the maintenance of production machines. Changes are synchronized with the MES within the standard DRF functions. You can also return information about the measuring points to the MES, for example, regarding known characteristics such machine operating time and production quantity. You can read the measuring points from both systems to obtain information about the operating times and maintenance windows.

Material The distribution of material material data via the DRF is possible in the standard system as of EHP6. To enable the integration with an MES, the standard distribution has been enhanced with MES-specific filter criteria. The filter critiera MRP Type was added to the filter. If the corresponding classification exists, the material classes are also transmitted.

Co-products If you want to confirm manufacturing orders in discrete manufacturing, the automatic goods receipt for co-products is now also ed in connection with an MES. The attribute for co-products and the indicator for automatic goods receipt must be set for the material.

Roles To make the configuration of systems communication between ERP and MES easier, particularly with an SAP ME, the following new roles are now available for the service which are summarized under the composite role SAP_PP_MES_SERVICE_: -

This role contains all authorizations that are relevant for discrete manufacturing with a production order and corresponding master data. The authorization objects contained in this role simplify the confirmation process. -

SAP_PP_MES_SHOP_FLOOR_REM This role provides additional authorizations if you want to use repetitive manufacturing.

SAP_PP_MES_PLANT_MAINTENANCE You need this role in addition If you use maintenance integration.

15.1.2 MES Integration for Production Order Use As of SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP_APPL 605), business function Integration of Production Processes with an MES, you can use the integration for the production order. If you have already activated the business function LOG_PP_MES_INT_01 available in the system, relevant production orders are transmitted upon release via the DRF to an MES. In addition, the following new functions are available: -

Any changes you make to the redistributed production order in the ERP system are likewise synchronized in the MES. Howeve, to ensure data consistency between ERP and the MES, you are unable to change certain fields or perform certain functions in ERP for the production order.

-

Direct confirmation of the production quantities for replicated orders occurs exclusively via the interface to the MES. When confirming production orders, you can now also specify the batch characteristics for batch-managed materials and the serial numbers for serialized materials.

-

You can specify serial numbers for the finished product for the order via the IDoc LOIPRO02. Serial numbers that have been entered or that are to be deleted are checked as part of the serial number management; accidental deletion is also prevented.

-

You can now specify long texts and documents for the production order, such as work instructions either directly or as production resources. If the documents are stored in the SAP vault or on a network server and have the status Released, they are likewise transmitted to the MES. From the MES, you can call the document originals via URL. Data transmission occurs by means of a secure connection (https port).

-

If you have created an inspection lot for a production order, the data of this inspection lot, for example inspection characteristics, are also transmitted to the MES.

-

From the new status field in the production order you can determine whether the production order has been distributed or whether it is relevant for distribution.

Effects on Customizing In Customizing for the production, under Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System > Integration of Production Orders with a Manufacturing Execution System, numerous activities are available for integration of the production order. To enhance the IDoc, in Customizing for the production choose Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System -> Enhance IDocs for Integration with an MES-> BAdI: Enhance IDoc for Planned Order..

15.1.3 MES Integration for Planned Orders Use

As of SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP_APPL 605), business function Integration of Production Processes with an MES, you can use the integration for the planned order. The following new functions are available: -

The saving and automatic distribution of the newly-created planned order have been combined into one step, as long as the planned order corresponds to the filter criteria for the distribution. This spares you from having to call up additional transactions. As soon as you save the newly-created planned order, it is replicated to an MES. It does not matter how you created the order: by using the MRP run, in the planning table for repetitive manufacturing, or manually.

-

You have the option of controlling the distribution of orders by the date. Planned orders whose opening dates lie in the future are not considered in the replication. You can distribute these orders through the periodic scheduling of the RDRF_MESSAGE_OUT report in the Execute Data Replication transaction (DRFOUT).

-

If you have distributed planned orders to an MES, the system prevents direction confirmations from ERP for the material. This also applies to batch-managed materials. The confirmation occurs via the MES. The system automatically compares deviations of the actual production quantity from the original planned quantity requested, so that the data in ERP and MES is always consistent.

-

The confirmation for the production version also occurs via the MES. Once the order has been distributed, you can no longer change the production version or other particular order data, such as the plant. In addition, only goods receipt batches can be classified during confirmation.

-

Subsequent changes to the planned order, done either manually or through planning (such as the MRP run), are automatically synchronized with the MES, as long as the planned order was already distributed to the MES.

You can distribute planned orders via the DRF to an MES if the following conditions have been met: -

The planned order must be used in repetitive manufacturing.

-

It must not be created in the kanban process.

-

You must provide a production version with it.

-

The conversion indicator must not be set.

15.2 PP-SFC

Production Orders

15.2.1 LOG_PP_CI_1: Improvements in Manufacturing Use As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 6 (EA_APPL_606) Business Function Optimizations in Production (LOG_PP_CI_1) is available. This business function allows you to use automatic goods receipt for co-products when entering confirmations for production and process orders. The confirmation process has been harmonized with the standard confirmation process and is now more friendly. The automatic goods receipt process has significantly reduced the number of process steps previously required. When you have to confirm production orders for which there are co-products, you no longer need to call additional transactions. When you confirm production orders, the system automatically calculates a proposal for the goods receipt or the item assigned to the operation with the corresponding quantity calculated. You can also use this function in milestone confirmation. Note that the attribute for co-products and the indicator for automatic goods receipt must be set for the material. Effects on Existing Data The corresponding confirmation BAPIs have been enhanced.

15.4.1.5 LOG_PP_CFB: Calculation of BBD in the Process Order (New) Use As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP_APPL 606), business function PP, Food and Beverage Industry (LOG_PP_CFB), the system calculates the best-before date (BBD) or shelf life expiration date (SLED) right in the process order. You can decide whether you want the system to calculate the BBD/SLED during goods receipt through the process order, as was the case up to now, or earlier when the process order is created. Daily Production Report This report (0CR_OPM_NET_DAILY_PROD) can be used by a production engineer to get and compare the daily production quantities of all the well completions of a network along with the relevant medium and quantity type. It also shows the associated details like Downtime, Well Test, Measurement Data and Life Cycle Status for a particular network and a business date. The measures like Temperature, Base Sediment Water (BSW), Gravity must be included for tank measurement in

15.5.3 OIL_OPM_UPST: Simulation (New) Use As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Oil & Gas (IS-OIL 606), business function Operations Performance Management for Upstream (OIL_OPM_UPST), you can create simulations based on an existing production network with a specified validity period for planning and allocation purposes and make changes to the planning version of a network structure without any impact on the productive network. Henceforth in the document the term network refers to a simulation network and not a production network, unless specified. All additions/modifications performed on the network objects are done in simulative mode and do not influence the objects in the productive mode of the network.

You can: -

Create a new simulation by choosing a network and use many of the standard network modeler functions to modify the structure of a specific production network. Note that the following standard network modeler features are not available: -

Navigation to allocation service links

Viewing of change logs

Process and create allocation rules for the network objects in the network.

Define various simulation variables for the network and network objects based on the network object type, for example: -

15.5.6.1 OIL_OPM_UPST: Network Objects (New) Use As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Oil & Gas (IS-OIL 606), business function Operations Performance Management for Upstream (OIL_OPM_UPST), you can use network objects, which are types of functional locations, to build network structures. Examples of network objects are wells, well completions, separators, and meters. You can enter information for each network object, such as technical data, lifecycle status information, geographical information, and oil and gas specific information. For example, for linear network objects like a pipeline, if you have created a functional location category and defined it as relevant to the area of linear asset management, you can enter linear asset management data for the network object once you have linked the linear functional location category to the network object type. You do this in Customizing under Production -> Production Network -> Network Objects -> Define Category of Functional Location and Link Object Type to Functional Location Category. Network Operations

15.5.7.1 OIL_OPM_UPST: Planning Table (New) Use As of SAP enhancement package 6 for ERP 6.0 (EA_APPL 606), business function Operations Performance Management for Upstream (OIL_OPM_UPST_1), the planning table is available. The planning table provides you with complete visibility across all data relevant to production planning in order to ensure delivery. You can directly access your calculation functions and get information about the production capacity of your network within a defined planning horizon. The application enables you to work in two different modes - operational planning or simulative planning. Operational planning is done with reference to an active network identified by a network ID, whereas simulative planning is based on a simulation ID or a planning version ID. The planning table provides you with the following views and functions for operative and simulative planning: -

Planned Values In the Planned Values view you get an overview of the planned and allocated quantities for certain network nodes and the corresponding mediums, such as oil, gas, or water. The results of an allocation run can be adopted as new planning values or included in the production plan. The Planned Values view offers various interactive planning functions: -

Copying of allocation values to planning values with a factor; this factor helps you to adjust your planning values and compensate for deviations in your planning. The function is available only in the Planned Values. The allocation values are adopted as planning values.

Copying of actual values from the past; the actual values are copied to create planning values in the future.

Actual Values You are only able to see the actual values - and therefore the result of the planning - in the Actual Values view.

Compare Versions This view allows you to compare different versions of master and transactional data for a network. You can also compare planning versions for different simulation IDs or with the operational planning of the same network. The view gives you an overview about the quantities, for example how much oil was extracted at a certain network node. Valid for each view As you can start the planning from different points of the network you can choose between three planning procedures and the respective hierarchical displays of the planning data: -

Top Down With the top-down approach you focus on the finished products, the outcome of the production. You start your planning from the end points of the network that are open for input. You enter the quantities you want to produce and all the quantities of the other network nodes are adjusted accordingly to achieve this goal.

-

Bottom Up The bottom-up view is designed for the planning of well completion, for example. the starting points of the network that are open for input. This kind of planning helps you to evaluate the capacity and overall output of the network.

-

All Planning-Relevant Objects This display option combines the functionalities of previous two. Additionally, you can monitor and influence the intermediate levels of the production network and see the real quantity flow at the different object nodes.

Cumulative Planning You can do your planning not only in daily buckets, but also in periods like weeks or months. If you change the planning values for a week, for example, the figures are disaggregated and distributed among seven daily buckets. You have various options to make the deviations in planning transparent. You can distribute total or difference quantities equally or choose a proportional distribution. For more information, see the documentation of the Customizing activity. Display Options You can change the general graphical appearance of the planning table in Customizing or via the planning table profile settings. With the planning table profile, you can define a personalized entry for the planning table. The planning table profile settings allow you to adjust the display of the planning table to satisfy your current needs. The Customizing settings are not overwritten. Additional filter functionality provides clarity in your planning data. You can select which items or lines are to be displayed, such as material, level, or category. For example, you have a view of a specific material, such as oil. Simulative Planning Simulative planning enables you to determine the most effective way to run your production. The output

of the simulation process is published through the planning table. Based on a planning version, the planner can execute what-if scenarios, manipulate the production data, and respond to planned or unplanned deviations from the production plan. Ownership

15.5.8.1 OIL_OPM_UPST: Ownership (New) Use As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Oil & Gas (IS-OIL 606), business function Operations Performance Management for Upstream (OIL_OPM_UPST), you can enter ownership information for oil and gas producing assets, for example, a particular company's share of production, using the division of interest to specify any partner shares and royalty shares. The division of interest is assigned to production networks to determine each owner's entitled share of production from a particular lease or concession. This way you can ascertain the share of production available for sale. Additionally, you can enter master data, enabling you to view who received concessions based on geographical area. The Operations Performance Management role allows you to: -

Enter business partner information, such as personal data, multiple addresses, bank details, ing information and tax details for a business partner. In the oil and gas ownership business process a customer or vendor can play different roles such as operator, lessor, working interest, billing and so on. These roles are entered for a customer or vendor using the business partner transaction.

Enter information for concession entity objects A concession is a legal agreement that allows a lessor to undertake production and exploration

activities subject to and conditions of the concession. -

Enter information for division of interest (DOI) The DOI specifies the owners participating in a particular venture, the gross and net interest that each owner is entitled to, as well as their royalty obligations.

Create assignment between DOI and production network/well completion This function allows you to assign the DOI to a network object. During the ownership allocation business process, the system picks up the DOI assigned to the well completion and performs the ownership split according to the details maintained in the DOI.

Execute ownership allocation.
