FASHION TECHNOLOGY PARK Introduction Fashion Technology Park (ftp) is in the process of executing a well designed \Physical Infrastructure and developing a world-class Intellectual Infrastructure. The Fashion Technology Park (FTP) would be developed as one of its kind, ‘state of the art’ facility that would have as its hub, a Knowledge Centre, viz the ‘Global Fashion Business Tower’, that would not only provide the FTP its fashion centric character, but would also undertake various R&D, training & development programmes and would develop linkages that would benefit units and designers. The Unique facility at FTP will enable Indian Designers to start their deg from Fiber stage right up to the finished products. For this, FTP is facilitating by making and testing samples of fiber, fabric & apparels on world’s latest machines & equipments, a facility which presently they do not have. This will help them ing the mainstream of Western style fashion business. The development concept of the FTP has been crystallized on the basis of inputs received from experts (FKF- 2005, FKF2006 and E & Y Report) and luminaries of the fashion industry. This has been done with a view to ensure that the
end product provides the industry with an integrated infrastructure solution that adequately addresses requirements of the industry and facilitates seamless integration between its various components. The FTP would primarily be dedicated to design, R&D, business incubation and marketing activitie
AIM: To provide Designs studios with comfortable atmosphere and services to Designers to enable them to create best Designs in a throbbing business place. Objectives of Fashion technology Park (ftp): To make meeting point of Designers manufacturers, traders and exporters to develop the Fashion Industry manifold in India. •To understand the environment of the fashion technology and enroll architecture in the creation of that space. •To balance the academic and recreational zones by proper blending of the physical elements(building , landscape, circulation , utility etc.) for the achievement of desired non physical elements(style of professional life, motion, communication etc.). •To design a building which is environmentally sensitive and indigenous in character •To develop an interface of tradition and technology with the building components as a
connection to the theme of the institute. •To treat the circulation spine and corridors, as the display gallery for the art works in order to create an aura of interest and creative learning for the students. •To provide spaces such as courtyards, encouraging a good interaction within the students as a part of the natural learning process.
Site The proposed site is located at Bidadi, Bangalore. It is situated slightly away from Bangalore city on the Bangalore-Mysore highway. The area of the site is 48 acres and it is highly contoured.
Scope of the Project The Fashion Technology Park is India's Strategic response to the rapidly expanding global fashion market. The boom necessitates a streamlined and synergized organization of talent and resources in the Fashion & Lifestyle sectors. The Indian fashion industry is in the process of building future brands, trying to create networks, relationships and processes.
