Dear Sir,A4adam,
I am writing to complain about an article in last Monday's newspaper, "schools fail low-income children." As the head teacher of one of the largest juniorhigh schools in the city, I feel strongly that the article does not describe our school. My school has children from many different economic backgrounds, but a large percentage come from lower-income families. Nevertheless, our tests show that the children do well and benefit from the excellent work our teachers do. Last year our school moved from 24th to 5th place according to the official assessment by the state govemment. This is clearly not the "failure" that the article suggests. I would strongly recommend that more careful research should be conducted in the future so that yow newspaper will more realistically describe the true situation in our schools.
Yours sincerely. JoanGonzalez

Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices .un f,.ip delaying the natural aging process and prevent various skin problems. Get started with these five nononsense tips. 1. Protect yourself from the sun One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin probiems, as well as increase the risk of skin cancer. 2. It also his depletes oxygen and nutrients of the skin. 3. Treat your skin gently. Limiting your bath-time will keep your skin gentle. Hot water and long showers remove oils from your skin. Use warm rather than hot water. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. 4- Eat a healthy diet A healthy diet can help you look and feel good. The followinq text is for questions 31 to 33. The plane with the largest wingspan ever built was nicknamed the Spruce Goose. The wingspan of the Spruce Goose was 320 feet (almost 100 meters), and the plane weighed 200 tons. It was so big that it needed eight engines to power it. The plane was designed by Howard Hughes in response to a U.S government request for a plane that was able to carry a large cargo for the war effort. It was made of wood because wood is a less critical material in wartime than metal. The plane was so difficult to build that it was never really used. It was flown one time only, by Hughes himself on November 2, 1947; during that flight, it travelled a distance of less than one mile over the Los Angeles Harbor, but it did fly. Snakes are reptiles (cold-blooded creatures). They belong to the same group as lizards (the scaled group, Squamata) but from a sub-group of theii own (Serpentes). Some types of snakes iive in trees, some live in water, but most live on the ground in deserted rabbit burrows, in thick, long grass and in old logs.

Pesticides are commonly used, but this may cause many harmful effects on people as well as the natural environtment. First, the chemicals in pesticides may build up as residues in the environment. This reduces the quality of farm's products. Pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. is means that newer and stronger ones have to be developed. Some pesticides also affect non target animals such as fish and bees. This affects natural balance. To wipe out agricultural pests completely may be very expensive. Finally, understanding the ecology of the area wiil help a lot in a pest control. Natural enemies can be used to control pests. In other words, it can be said that an integrated pest management (i.e. an ecological approach that can be significantly reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides) is safer and more effective to be used as a solution to deal with pests in ture. 37.

Low-Cost Airlines Before 1999, flying was too expensive for many Indonesian people. Buses, ships, and trains were much cheaper. In 1999 the first Indonesia's low-cost airline was introduced. The low-cost (or no frills or budget) airlines began in theearly 1990,s in the USA. The alwavs refer to the price-of the ticket, tut to the operating costs. {oeln't These airlines can operate more cheaply than regular uirri""r the service can reduce the cost of training the staff. Employees sometimes have to work in two jobs-the flight attendants sometimes clean inside ihe'aircraft after each flight. Since 1999 several budget airlines have been operating in Indonesia. As a matter of fact, the emergence of discount carriers has enormous benefits for travellers' Middle class-people, who could not afford full fare, would pay for cheaper seats. It's not surprising that many people prefer taking these no-frilis airlines it u, ,p.naing more money to travel on regular pianes. Moreover, early ticket booking allows ieople to get lower ticket price. Budget regular flights are cheaper because they do not give free in-flight food or drinks. However, bad safety records have been showed by plane crashes that have mostly happened to low-cost airlines. An Indonesian low-cost aiitine vanished without a tace; another plane cracked open upon landing; a flight overran the runway in vogyatarta and caught fire, and another discount aircraft went off the runway in Java. . Budgets flights may be less time ned energy consuming, but safety is surely not less important.

The orchid family is the largest plant family which has more than 20.000 unique varieties. Orchids are a cosmopolitan family found within the Arctic circle, the island to the south of Australia, but mostly in Asia. Most orchids have longitudinal parallel leaves with visible crossing. Orchids display many different marking like purple, white, yellow, pink, and nearly black hues. Orchids feature thick white roots that illustrate their origin as Epiphites. The plants can also grow on other plants. Orchids grow in almost all types of environment. Some grow on the ground while others perch on trees or rocks. Many others grown in green houses for sale. The scent of orchids is frequently analysed by perfume to identify the potential fragrance chemical. Orchids are usually cultivated for the flowers, but in China orchids have been used in traditional medicine for various disease.
