CHOKE SAUCE The choke sauce is a musical style of the salsa genre, urban type that was born on the shores of the Colombian Pacific , inspired by traditional salsa by adding the urban son and sounds of African origin.

ORIGIN The genre was born in 2004 in Tumaco , Colombia. In principle there was a confusion because they called urban sauce, but it is not so because this genre has more anger, more flavor. The first song that was officially known as choke sauce was: "Chichoki", "La tusa", "Bien paste" then arrives in Cali taking great reception in the eastern part of the city ( Aguablanca District ) where several have left Artists of this musical genre who now have the responsibility of bringing this urban genre to the entire world.

ORIGEN El género nació en el 2004 en Tumaco, Colombia. En principio hubo una confusión porque le decían salsa urbana, pero no es así pues este género tiene más furor, más sabor. El nombre nace porque la gente lo empezó a bailar chocando el cuerpo, pero fue evolucionando y llegó al baile que se realiza hoy día. La primera canción que se dio a conocer oficialmente como salsa choke fue: "Chichoki", "La tusa", "Bien pegaito" luego llega a Cali tomando gran acogida en la parte oriental de la ciudad (Distrito de Aguablanca) donde han salido varios artistas de este género musical que ahora tienen la responsabilidad de llevar este género urbano al mundo entero.

Expansión a nivel nacional e internacional Aunque este género musical comenzó en Tumaco, se empezó a expandir a nivel nacional en ciudades tales como Guapi, Buenaventura, Cali, Palmira, Cartagena, Medellín, Tulua, Bogotá, Barranquilla y Quibdo. A nivel internacional, también traspasó fronteras y se popularizó por toda la costa pacífica del Ecuador. Este género fue tomando un papel importante en discotecas colombianas.

Este baile se popularizó aún más cuando los jugadores de fútbol de la Selección Colombia la empezaron a bailar cada vez que hacían un gol en el mundial de Brasil de 2014, donde elogiaban la canción "Ras Tas Tas" del grupo "Cali Flow Latino", que incluso lo bailaron cuando llegaron a Colombia después de su eliminatoria en el mundial. Uno de los mejores representantes del género es Maui, quien se destaca por sus arreglos pegajosos y muy bien elaborados.

DANCE

BAILE

La base de este baile es mover los pies y las caderas dos veces a cada lado, coordinados con las manos. Es un paso similar al paso más común de la bachata, pero al doble de velocidad. Además de este existen muchas variaciones de las cuales los más conocidos son "el brincaíto", "cobando", "el champú", "pateando el balón", entre otros.
