MY REFLECTION ABOUT SEVEN SACRAMENTS

There are Seven (7) Sacraments inside the Catholic church, The first is the sacrament of

Baptism, second

is

the

sacrament

of Communion third

is

the

sacrament

of confirmation, fourth is the sacrament of the Holy Orders the fifth is the sacrament of Holy Matrimony (Marriage) the sixth is the sacrament of Confession and the seventh is the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. What is the relevance of these sacraments in our life's journey? The sacraments are there to accompany us as we travel in this world, that the first sacrament is Baptism and the last sacrament is the anointing of the sick. Baptism is the start of our christian life and the Anointing of the Sick is the end. Majority of those who are being anointed are old and are near to the next life. But strictly speaking the Anointing of the sick is not only given when somebody is old and dying. Anybody regardless of age who is gravely sick or set to undergo a major operation is eligible to this sacrament. God has established His ancient covenant by signs and wonders (for example, the rainbow), but He has also used many other signs to establish His love for us, and for us to reciprocate our love for Him. All of us are keenly aware of man's ordinary way of communicating, namely, the spoken word or the written word. However, when some people, like many deaf individuals, cannot speak or write, they can still express their ideas very effectively through their own sign language, and they are really good at it. Through the sin of men, man lost that gift or privilege and was doomed for all eternity. Prompted by His infinite goodness, understanding and love, God decided to give man another chance by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world as our personal Savior. The word "redeem" means "to buy back" and at the age of thirty three, Jesus Christ

bought mankind back from the captivity of the devil by dying on the cross. That was the price He was willing to pay, and through His death and resurrection, He made it possible for man to strive for salvation. In His infinite wisdom, Christ came up with the idea of taking all that love and wrapping it up in seven packages that we call the seven Sacraments. The gift of grace, which would make it possible for man to share life with God once again, was made available. It was like putting money in the bank, to be drawn upon. Man's challenge was and continues to be his acceptance and appreciation for these seven gifts of life, of grace and of God's love. God’s lo is so amazing. Imagine the fact that He invested His life for you? What a great FAVOR. That is unmerited and undeserved but because of His great and amazing love for us, He did that for us to be saved. The true meaning of sacrament is not just about being a Christian, going inside and outside the church but all about your true communication with God. My reaction about that said event, they emphasized the love of God through songs. Of how He make us His beloved according to Ephesians 1:6 and how He made us so valuable to Him not by being a thing but by His Beloved Son.
