• is a certificate issued by the Department of Tourism (DOT) recognizing the holder as having complied with its minimum standards in the operation of the establishment concerned which shall ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of the tourist.

DOT ACCREDITATION VALIDITY: • The accreditation duly issued to any tourist transport operator shall be valid for a period of one (1) year from its date of issue unless sooner revoked for cause by the Department.
DOT ACCREDITATION GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCREDITATION (ALL TYPES OF ENTITIES) New Application • Valid Mayor’s Permit and/or Municipal License from LGU • SEC Registration Certificate of Articles of Incorporation/ Partnership/ By-Laws and amendments if any (for corporation or partnership), DTI Business Name Registration Certificate (for single proprietorship) • Valid visa from Bureau of Immigration and employment permit from DOLE (for foreign nationals) Renewal • Valid Mayor’s Permit and/or Municipal License from LGU • Amendment of Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws, if applicable. • If business name expired, submit a renewed copy. • If visa or work permit expired, submit a renewed copy.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURIST LAND TRANSPORT VEHICLES For purposes of accreditation the following are the basic requirements for the operation and maintenance of a tourist land transport: • • • • •

DOT REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCREDITATION OF TOURIST TRANSPORT VEHICLES (LAND) ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: FOR TOURIST LAND TRANSPORT OPERATORS: • A minimum of three (3) vehicles covered with a valid “Tourist Transport Franchise” issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. • The vehicles shall not be more than: Ten (10) years for cars, jeepneys and vans Fifteen (15) years for buses and coasters. For Tourist Taxi Driver (Metered and Coupon): • Shall have ed a Tourist Taxi Drivers Seminar conducted by the Department of Tourism.

The application shall be ed by the following documents: • A copy of the LTFRB certificate of franchise or authorization for tourist car/bus service; • A copy of the transportation rates as approved by the LTFRB. • Pictures of the vehicle showing the side, back and front views thereof with the company's name and logo imprinted at its rear and sides, respectively; and • Such other papers or documents as may be required from time to time by the Department.

DOT REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCREDITATION OF TOURIST TRANSPORT VEHICLES (WATER) STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURIST WATER TRANSPORT For purposes of accreditation, the following are the minimum requirements for the operation and maintenance of an water transport. • Restrooms – There shall be at least one restroom each with toilet and washing facilities for male and female located at the enger accommodation area. In addition, there shall be a common toilet and bath at the stateroom for long haul trip.

• Promenade Area - There shall be a promenade or airing space at the upper deck for the exclusive use of engers.
• Baggage Area – There shall be a baggage area provided with racks or similar convenient and safe storage in the enger accommodation areas.

• Service and Staff – Adequate number of well-trained, well- groomed, efficient, and courteous staff shall be employed. Front-line staff shall have a good speaking knowledge of English.
• Lighting – Adequate lighting and arrangements shall be installed in all levels of the ship in accordance with the Philippine Merchant Marine Rules and Regulations.

Life-saving devices - Adequate life-saving devices shall be provided in accordance with the requirements prescribed by the Air Transportation Office.

TYPES OF MOTOR VEHICLES • ENGER CARS - Is a road motor vehicle, other than a motor cycle, intended for the carriage of engers and designed to seat no more than nine persons (including the driver).
TYPES OF MOTOR VEHICLES MOTORCYCLES • A motor vehicle similar to a bicycle but usually larger and heavier, it’s chiefly for one rider but sometimes having two saddles or an attached sidecar for engers.
• A vehicle (such as car, truck, or motorcycle) that is powered by a motor, it is a self-propelled road vehicle, commonly wheeled, that does not operate on rails, such as trains or trams, it has rubber tires for use on highways. • For legal purposes motor vehicles are often identified within a number of vehicle classes including cars, buses, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, light trucks and regular trucks. These classifications vary according to the legal codes of each country.

UTILITY VEHICLES • is a motorized vehicle, that is designed to carry out a specific task with more efficacy than a general purpose vehicle.
• TRUCKS - A large motor vehicle carrying engers by road, it is also serving the public on a fixed route and for a fare.
JEEPNEYS • It is a popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. The jeepneys don't have air-conditioning. They have open windows. Most of the time they are constantlypacked with many engers.
