Esta película es basada en la increíble historia real del amor inquebrantable de una madre frente a probabilidades imposibles. En el inicio de esta película se ve reflejado que el chico John Smith no trataba bien a sus padres, no le gustaba ni siquiera despedirse de su madre cuando lo llevaba a la escuela, esto era porque él era adoptado, y nunca se había considerado de su familia a pesar de que lo criaron desde que era bebe, era un excelente jugador de basquetbol, su mama era muy apegada a la iglesia por lo cual toda su familia iba sin falta a las eucaristías, pero en ese momento hacia muy poco tiempo que había entrado un nuevo pastor llamado jason el cual no le agradaba a Joyce por la manera en la que peinaba su cabello de manera desordenada y como joven y tampoco como predicaba las eucaristías, ya que llevaba bandas musicales para mientras adoraban a Dios los jóvenes se sintieran en un ambiente de su atracción y se unieran mas y mas jóvenes a su iglesia, pero a Joyce no le gustó que hasta un rapero estuviera incluido, a pesar de que en esa ocasión todos los jóvenes presentes se pusieron en pie y cantaron de la manera mas feliz. Al salir de la eucaristía el pastor despide a cada familia y al venir la familia Smith le pregunta a Joyce si podían quedarse pero ella sin pensarlo dos veces le dice que su hijo tendrá un juego muy importante y no pueden faltan a lo que el pastor responde que ya lo había visto jugar antes y que juega muy bien además de hacerle una invitación para venir mas seguido a la iglesia. En este juego John no tiene la mejor actitud, pues en lugar de dar pase a sus compañeros prefería hacer todos los puntos él, y a pesar de hacer el punto la idea era jugar en equipo. Después de ese partido para celebrar dos de sus amigos y él se van a casa de uno de ellos a hacer una noche de celebración para lo cual su madre (Joyce) le dice que tenga mucho cuidado y que la llame cuando llegue. Estuvo con sus amigos toda la noche y al día siguiente en un día frio y congelado salieron a jugar y se metieron en un lago que se encontraba congelado en Misuri por la estación en la que se encontraba. Un hombre que se encontraba cerca del lugar les advirtió que debían salir, pues podrían caerse bajo el agua y no soportarían la temperatura tan baja, mas no le hicieron caso y siguieron jugando. En un momento de impacto y de repente el hielo del lago se parte y caen los tres chicos dentro del agua a una temperatura menor a cinco grados donde empezaron a nadar hacia arriba para salir del agua, el hombre que les advirtió se dio cuenta y llamo de inmediato a personas que los pudieran ayudar, mientras ellos intentaban salir uno de sus amigos no podía hacerlo y él al intentar ayudarlo recibe un golpe en la cabeza por parte de su amigo, hecho que lo hace hundirse de manera rápida bajo el agua y no ser percibido por ninguno de sus dos

amigos quien estaba el que había ayudado afuera del agua y el otro sosteniéndose en el hielo con las piernas dentro del agua sin poder salir. Cuando llega la policía, los bomberos, medios de comunicación entre otros ya habían sacado a los dos amigos y él seguía bajo el agua, fueron dos bomberos quienes intentaban encontrarlo y ya llevaba más de quince minutos bajo el agua y temían que al sacarlo ya no tendría vida, uno de los bomberos escuchó la orden de su jefe de salir y dejar de buscarlo y pensó que estaba loco por lo que siguió buscando y cuando lo encontró estaba a más de 8 metros bajo el agua y empezó a jalarlo con un gancho que tenía. Al sacarlo los de la ambulancia lo suben de inmediato y dan aviso a su mamá aunque ya no tenía signos vitales y todas las esperanzas parecen perdidas por estar 60 minutos bajo el agua, al llegar al hospital intentan revivirlo incluso con electroshock y no lo consiguen, al llegar su madre le dan un tiempo con él para despedirse pero ella se niega a aceptarlo y empieza a orar y pedir por la vida de su hijo quien después de un tiempo de lágrimas de su madre y de oración regresa a la vida sin explicación alguna. Al ver esto los médicos se quedan impresionados y lo transfieren a una clínica donde se encuentra el Doctor Garrett, quien era el mejor en estos casos. Lo atienden y lo ponen a respirar de manera artificial y el doctor al hablar con sus padres les dice que no hay esperanzas de que él ni siquiera soporte esa misma noche, pues todos sus órganos estaban casi que destruidos y que si vivía, volvería con probables enfermedades, a lo que su madre respondió que su hijo si iba a vivir y que si de verdad era el mejor médico que lo demostrara. John resiste esa noche y para su madre no había ninguna posibilidad de que su hijo muriera, al mismo tiempo el pastor iba todos los días a quedarse por las noches con John y a estar al pendiente de su salud. Uno de esos días medios de comunicación vinieron al hospital a contar la historia a todo el mundo y comprobar que John aún seguía con vida, entrevistaron al pastor y este pidió apoyo de todas y cada una de las personas que vieran esa noticia, y todo el mundo empezó a orar desde sus casas, todos sus compañeros en la escuela y cada persona que supo la noticia. El bombero al enterarse que el chico seguía con vida le pareció que era muy fuerte y resistente y comento a su jefe que si le hubiera hecho caso de salir del lago y no lo hubiese seguido buscando no estaría vivo, a lo que el jefe se extraña y le asegura no haber dicho nada, dando como explicación que fue Dios quien le habló y a lo que responde que no cree en él. En una de esas noches mientras estaban el pastor y su madre presentes John apretó la mano de su madre y la del pastor pero no lo volvió a hacer cuando vinieron a comprobar si era cierto, por lo que no tomaron eso en serio y siguieron con los tratamientos. Esa noche todos los amigos de John fueron a la clínica para apoyar a su mama y darle motivación para soportar lo que le sucedía a su hijo y no se dejaban de escuchar murmullos por parte de algunas personas de que ese niño no viviría a lo que ella se molestó y se desmayó por el desgaste que había tenido esos últimos días y le pidieron alejarse por lo menos cinco horas de él.

El pastor se quedó con su hijo y luego de esas cinco horas en las que ella descansó y medito todo lo que estaba pasando subió al techo del hospital y empezó a orar y a pedirle a dios que le dijera que hacer porque estaba cansada de todo lo que sucedía y decía que confiaba en él y en lo que tenía preparado para su hijo, y en ese momento sintió la presencia del espíritu santo. Al volver con su hijo encuentra que está cada vez peor y sus órganos ya no soportan más medicamento y ella pide que saquen todo el medicamento y lo despierten a pesar de las advertencias que hizo el doctor de la posibilidad de morir. El doctor dijo que sacaría el medicamento esa noche y a la mañana siguiente lo despertaría para enfrentar la situación que viniera. Mientras ella lo cuidaba en esa noche llegaron más de dos mil personas a cantar una canción cristiana que lideraba una de sus amigas con una voz hermosa y Joyce al escuchar esto se puso a llorar y le dijo a su hijo que escuchara como todos lo estaban esperando y en ese instante su hijo en estado de coma se le sale una lagrima. Al día siguiente viene el doctor a despertarlo y el pastor dice que debería irse porque es algo que deben vivir como familia a lo que Joyce responde que él es parte de la familia y que se quede. Todos a la espera de qué pasaría, y al ser desconectado de la respiración artificial no regresó, al ver esto Joyce empezó a hablarle y a decirle que ahí estaba su mama, que volviera que lo estaba esperando y él se sentía hundido en el agua de ese lago y abrió los ojos y empezó a nadar hacia la superficie donde escuchaba la voz de su madre decir que ahí estaba, al salir afuera, despertó. Luego de un corto tiempo de análisis por parte del doctor se dirigió a su madre para decirle que esto era realmente un milagro porque ninguno de sus órganos tenía alguna falla cuando antes casi moría. Al regresar a su escuela su maestra preguntó ¿Por qué Dios salva a unas personas y a otras no? Pregunta que él no supo responder y ella pidió que ignorara. Ese mismo día encontró en su casillero muchas notas positivas pero también negativas y chicos que lo acosaban con comentarios negativos por lo que se sintió mal y salió en su bicicleta y fue al lago que ya estaba descongelado donde se encontró con el bombero que le salvo la vida y le agradeció, el bombero le contó lo sucedido y el respondió que tal vez Dios tiene una misión para los dos. En esa tarde fueron a la iglesia muchas personas y el pastor pidió que diera testimonio de lo que había sentido, y al terminar el pastor hizo levantar a cada una de las personas que hizo una oración y que aporto a la sanación de John, en ese momento toda la iglesia se puso de pie y lo único que hizo John fue llorar y agradecer a todos y a Dios. Después de esto John valoro a sus padres como nunca lo había hecho antes. Y en el último juego de campeonato jugo con su equipo y ganaron, aprendió a valorar lo que tenía y cambio la forma de ver el mundo.

This film is based on the incredible true story of a mother's unshakable love in the face of impossible odds. In the beginning of this film it is reflected that the boy John Smith did not treat his parents well, did not even like to say goodbye to his mother when he took him to school, this was because he was adopted, and had never been considered of his family even though he was raised since he was a baby, was an excellent basketball player, his mother was very attached to the church so all his family went without fail to the Eucharist, but at that time it was only a short time before a new shepherd named Jason came in who Joyce didn't like because of the way he combed his hair in a disorderly way and as a young man and also because he didn't preach the Eucharist, Joyce, however, did not like the fact that even a rapper was included, despite the fact that on that occasion all the young people present stood up and sang in the happiest way. When they take him out of the ambulance they immediately take him up and warn his mother although he no longer had vital signs and all hopes seem lost because he was 60 minutes under water, when they arrive at the hospital they try to revive him even with electroshock and they don't get it, when their mother arrives they give him time with him to say goodbye but she refuses to accept it and begins to pray and ask for the life of her son who after a time of tears from his mother and prayer comes back to life without any explanation. Seeing this, the doctors are impressed and transfer him to a clinic where Dr. Garrett is located, who was the best in these cases. They treat him and put him to breathe artificially and the doctor when he talks to his parents tells them that there is no hope that he will not even that same night, because all his organs were almost destroyed and that if he lived, he would return with probable illnesses, to which his mother replied that her son would live and that if indeed he was the best doctor to prove it. John resists that night and for his mother there was no possibility that her son would die, at the same time the pastor went every day to stay at night with John and to be aware of his health. One of those media days came to the hospital to tell the story to everyone and see that John was still alive, they interviewed the pastor and he asked for from each and every person who saw that news, and everyone started praying from their homes, all their classmates at school and every person who heard the news. The firefighter when he found out that the boy was still alive seemed to him to be very strong and resilient and told his boss that if he had paid attention to getting out of the lake and hadn't kept looking for him he wouldn't be alive, to which the boss is surprised and assures him that he hasn't said anything, giving as an explanation that it was God who spoke to him and to which he replies that he doesn't believe in him. On one of those nights while the pastor and his mother were present John shook his mother's hand and the pastor's but did not do it again when they came to check if it was true, so they did not take that seriously and continued with the treatments. That night all of John's friends went to the clinic to his mother and give her motivation to endure what was happening to her son and they kept hearing murmurs from some people that this child would not live to what she had been upset about and fainted from the wear and tear she had had those last days and asked her to stay away from him for at least five hours. The pastor stayed with his son and after those five hours in which she rested and meditated everything that was happening went up to the roof of the hospital and began to pray and ask God to tell her what to do because she was tired of everything that happened and said she

trusted him and what he had prepared for his son, and at that moment she felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Returning to her son she finds that he is getting worse and his organs can no longer take the medication and she asks them to take out all the medication and wake him up in spite of the warnings that the doctor made of the possibility of dying. The doctor said he would take out the medication that night and the next morning wake him up to face the situation that came. While she was taking care of him that night, more than two thousand people came to sing a Christian song led by one of her friends with a beautiful voice, and Joyce heard this and cried and told her son to listen to how everyone was waiting for him. The next day the doctor comes to wake him up and the pastor says that he should leave because it is something that they must live as a family to which Joyce responds that he is part of the family and stay. All waiting for what would happen, and when he was disconnected from the artificial respiration did not return, when Joyce saw this she began to talk to him and tell him that her mother was there, that she was waiting for him and he felt sunk in the water of that lake and opened his eyes and began to swim to the surface where he heard his mother's voice say that there he was, when he came out, he woke up. On that afternoon many people went to church and the pastor asked him to give testimony of what he had felt, and when he finished the pastor made each of the people who made a prayer and contributed to the healing of John, at that time the whole church stood up and the only thing John did was cry and thank everyone and God. After this John valued his parents as he had never done before. And in the last championship game he played with his team and they won, he learned to value what he had and changed the way he saw the world.
