Pleasure

I sigh, when I think of you caressing every inch of my skin Slowly, gently finding every curve, every crevice of my body. Heart racing from the touch of the smoothness of your hands. Wanting this moment to last forever Mmmm, it feels good , so real from the touch of your masculine hands, I open my eyes from the seductive dream. Hoping, that this dream will become real… Real… Real to feel your touch.

Lonesome

Alone Even though we share the same space The feeling of loneliness Overwhelms me Here but not here Your presence is fading You have the privilege of not being here even though you’re next to me I Feel you not. A shell only where are you. Why are we so distant, as if we’re Miles apart but a few inches from one another. Mentally… Physically… Emotionally Alone… . in this lonesome place.

The Mist

In the mist of the shadows There’s a small opening to guide me through the darkness. A flicker of light , as if it was a firefly. Flickering on and off , I begin to lose sight of the opening. I move on by pure faith… “As the bible says. Walk by faith not by sight”. Not knowing what each step would bring, I continue to tread on. The flicker seems to get further and further away , out of my grasp. I tread on ,for I shall not give in to the darkness. The mist gets thicker and thicker. The light smaller and smaller , but just that small glimmer keeps me moving forward. I shall not give in to the shadows, for shadows only last for so long. The glimmer gets bigger overshadowing the shadow. I press further. It is bright as the morning star. It is the Sun beginning to rise and there are shadow no more.

My Savior

I feel so alone, so lost, so empty As if there is a bottomless pit sucking me deep into it’s cravats I am Stuck, Reaching, clawing my way to the top. Which seems I’ll never reach… so Far away Distance… like to the moon. Then a familiar hand reaches down to the spoils of the earth and latches To my wrist. Saying “I am hear child, you are never alone”. It’s that voice you hear everyday. That never leaves your thoughts and Your mind. It’s the Friend that’s always listening and hearing your every Thoughts, words or deeds… we are never alone, never lost or never Empty, if we have Him with us. He is my rock , my foundation for staying Grounded. He is my Savior… My all… .

Unbreakable

Like the strength of bullet proof glass My heart is Unbreakable. Untouched Rough and uncut from years Of hardening my emotions, My feelings Unbreakable From the needing to get Close and open up to another. To relinquish myself. To give into the temptation Becoming vulnerable to love, affection And companionship solid as steel forever Unbreakable… .

Creature Of The Night

Mysterious Relentless Rising from the ashes Torched and burned Still in full throttle to glide Through the ebony sky Waiting for the moment To awaken the creatures of the night To be by his side To rule the air To dim the stars and moon Wanting total darkness to cover the land But as darkness comes Day break shall follow And send the creatures that arose from the ash Back to the deep pits of hell.

Unmoveble

I feel a thorn is piercing… . Deep within my spine… . Paralyzing me… . Motionless… . Stuck unable to move or maneuver my way Wanting… . Needing to be in control of my motionless limbs I struggle to make even the Slightest movement but nothing Not even an inch would fidget Like being pierced by a needle My motionless body has Left me in an emotional state of Paralysis in mind and spirit Along with my body.

From Darkness… . To Light

The darkness plagues the earth like silt in a chimney Every inch completely consumed Not a sign of light anywhere It has smothered all shimmers or glimmers of light Invading the smallest crack to the largest. How long will we have to endure this blackness. That has taken control of all in its path. Just until daybreak

When the sun rises and consumes all the dark shadows that have taken Over the earth.

A new refreshing sign of life starts to emerge. The light has taken Control and suppressed all the Shadows back beneath the surface. The light has embraced all living creatures Bringing forth new life, The Sun has risen again.

Chameleon

You change at a moments notice Like a chameleon changes shades What are you hiding and why There are so many sides too you Which do I trust… which is real Which is a disguise Will you reveal your true self Or keep it hidden… . Locked away Not wanting to reveal who you really are But who you want me to think you are. You are a chameleon… . in disguise

Heaven

Beneath the stars I lie and dream of a place Where all is pure and clean Untouched by the evils Of the world Not tainted or emerged in sin A place of hope and peace And righteousness So distant , so far , icons away Is there such a place Where the worthy abide Is there such a place Or am I dreaming , while I Lie underneath the stars Imagining such a place of joy and Peace in my conscious I open my eyes to the reality Of being in such a place

Roaring Thunder

The roaring of the thunder Trembles the earth beneath My feet. So boisterous Then in a second lighting strikes Singeing the earth surface Black as tar. Killing all life in it’s surrounding. And just as fast as it came, It was gone. Leaving all residues , marks Of its presence. The rain comes washes the blackness away. To reveal a new beginning of life. Beneath the singed surface, Rebirth has begun. But in a distance, It repeats the cycle over And over again

And again comes the roaring Of the Thunder…

Sadness

I have a sadness deep Within my soul Longing for the companionship Of another But afraid to open my heart For one to enter Afraid of being rejected Afraid of being neglected Wanting to get loved by another But afraid to give it in return I have a sadness within and all I need is a friend

My Man

You have a place in my heart that’s reserved for you. No other, will ever take its place. You are my best friend , my lover and my soul mate We have a love that’s solid as a rock. Stern, pure, everlasting in a class of it’s own. We have our ups and downs but seem to land on top. We butt heads, huff and puff but we’re still together, I love you with all my being, Worry not for there is no other for me. You are my sunshine , you make me smile and laugh when I’m down. You’re a good husband and great father,,, You are my all My chocolate fix. You’ve loved me unconditional For 22½ yrs through bigger and smaller. Always telling me I’m beautiful When I feel so much less, I love you Milton C Williams Jr and never have any doubt that you were meant for me.

I Lie In Bed Longing For Sleep

Sleep… What… There will be no sleep here. I close my eyes Meditating… . Meditating… . Mediating Sleep… What… There will be no sleep here. Why can’t I find sleep? Just longing for it to come Sleep has eluded me Abandoned me, left me with eyes wide open… , The cycle of sleepless nights continues. How much more can I endure ? My body, of my mind, are exhausted My soul is wandering… waiting To be at rest. Sleep… what not tonight… Still longing… still waiting for sleep to come.

Our Life’s Purpose

I believe we each have a purpose In this life we’re living Not just taking up space but Being useful and in touch with ourselves… Knowing that we are more than The shell we’re in. That our souls are entwined. That we need to be wanted. And want to be needed. Loved… . Connected like a web. One line touchings the next Forever linked together.

Joy

Joy-fullness fills my soul. My spirit is at ease, at rest. From an emotional state of confusion. I smile, I laugh, I’m overcome With joy and happiness. I live , I laugh , I love I am at peace with me… . I have found my Joy Deep within…

Life Renewed

As raindrops splatter to the ground , The crackling earth Submerges them inside. Life beings to sprout out from The dry, moist less Earth. As the sun beams down to regenerate, The wilting plants, grass and trees. The land begins to be covered with lush green grass. Life has been renewed once again.

Love Is

Love is… . What’s inside of us that makes us swoon… Love is… . The touch of a warm hand caressing your body. The essence of what make us Human Love is… . The look you give to another. Love is… . The emotion that fells your soul to its fullest Love is… . Unconditional Love is… . Love… .

Never Forgotten

I sit alone wondering , pondering On things of another time Things I cant change Things ed but never forgotten The past is behind us , Yet, we dwell in it sometimes. Holding on to things Never forgotten. Missing new moments created before us. Moments That will become things of the past Never forgetting those moments Collecting them in our minds. Choosing which to bring forward and Which too leave in the past the Things Never Forgotten

Pierced Heart

I feel as if a dagger has pierced My heart. It’s stuck. It has planted roots deep inside. Never ending long vines of destruction. Wanting to destroy from within. I grasp the dagger. I pull, twist and turn it. Trying to release its grasp. The roots so deep and sternly planted. But, just as every living organism needs light to flourish. The roots begin to harden and crumble. It releases the dagger. My pierced heart has healed and is ready to love again. Bursting out rays of sunshine too bring the warmth back in and plant its Roots of love.

Who Am I

Look deep inside Ask self Who am I Am I the one looking inside Or the one looking to find away In Am I a watcher Am I a doer Am I a lover Am I s hater Am I a giver Am I a taker Define yourself Who are you Where do you stand ?

Defining Self

Deep into our mind Thoughts occur and reoccur Thoughts of our desires, Temptations, lies or truths Of who we are or want to be It defines us and mole us into The person we are We choose our pAth and where It will lid us either down the Right way or the wrong way Good or bad… Love or hate The choice is yours…

The Storm Has ed

The sky turned black as tar Every inch of light devoured By the storm It seems as it would never Miles and miles of clouds Smothering the Earth of it’s Glory the sun was consumed Total darkness caressed every inch of land, air all space above and below Then , small as a tip of a needle A burst of sunshine slowly began To submerge the darkness smothering it Until all the darkness was Eradicated and The Storm has ed.

Purifying…

There are moments in time When We close our eyes and take a deep breath and release all The impurities that invade us. Again and again the motion continues and we get a feeling of relief of the pureness and satisfaction of purifying the heart, the soul , the mind. These are the moments in time That remain with us until the end of time.

Burn… Burn… Burning Within

The burning within my soul Tears away each layer Of humanity that still inhabits My being I search for something To extinguish the fire. The fire grows bigger the burning gets hotter, hotter and hotter till The tears from within smothers out the flames. Tears of joy, happiness and love overwhelms The burning until there’s nothing but smoke seeping out of my soul As the tears seals my soul from the burning ever entering again i am filled with warmth, peace and love.

Loveless

I am surrounded by love Yet I feel nothing Empty , dry and lonely inside I am surrounded by love Yet I feel nothing Sad, harden and emotionless I am surround by love Yet I feel nothing No love for myself, therefore I know not what love is , Yet I am surrounded by love Love that I do not feel Loveless inside Yet I am surrounded

Recharged

As, I gaze unto the stars I feel the warmth beaming down my spine regenerating my energy and strength feeling me with warmth and soothingness Of the beams tingling through my whole being I feel recharged and ready to survive , live another day

Ponder

I ponder, I ponder Is this how my life should be? Am I in the right place The right moment in time Was this the plan for my being My mind’s in a whirlwind Pondering, pondering , pondering But it’s just my mind trapped In a state of solace Grasping, grasping , grasping For stability , for sanity, for peacefulness I open my eyes. I am grounded I am fearless. I am me. A mere reflection of who I am, when The person I’ve been looking for Was looking back at me.

Mementos

Thoughts of the past emerged mind, shimmer here , a shimmer there A memory flashes,I grasp , I can not hold for it’s was a shimmer , A thought , a word , a moment of pure joyfulness These are the mementos that Flashes, I’m here , I’m there I’m there , I’m here These are the memories that invade me. My mementos , my mementos My life.

The Day

He without Without him saying a word Never writing or calling There was nothing I heard Will I ever have the relief And my heart stop feeling grief To move on with my life And leave the past behind And go forward and stop trying to rewind back to a time of when he was mine.

Heartache

I hear your call I stand waiting , against the wall Longing for you to come my way You came awhile but not to stay My heart is broken and full of grief For you there’s nothing only relief I’m lost and confused on what to do My heart has been broken but my spirit renewed A lifelong of trusting has lead me to be a fool A change has come deep within for me to gain myself again At last, I’ve found peace and Relaxation relieved That I am stronger than i perceived I hear your call over and over Again I block it out and lock you out of my heart for now, for Ever till The end… .

My Soul

I’m not in a good place now My emotions are enraged I’m so tired… . There seems to be no end To the heartache of pain I feel empty, broken Trying to keep my mind From slipping deep into a place of no return My soul at battle… . My brain in rambles… . The Deep

Deep below the surface… Periods of darkness come to overcome us at anytime. We must prevail in The midst of the Storms of life. Rain falls hard, Fills up oceans, seas , Lakes,and even the smallest puddles and keeps us submerged, Deep below The surface and keeps us with pain , suffering and hurt, Rise up… Rise up… Rise up… . Rise up… . And step out out of The Deep end…

Here I am Waiting for you You’ve left me Without leaving a clue I search to find something That will give me peace of mind But You leave nothing behind Not a trace not a dime I’ve wasted so much time And now I must unwind I realize that you are gone And I’m all alone In the place we call home.

Mirrors

Mirrors… . Mirrors… All Around We stare in them daily. To see how we look or appear to be Sometimes our consciousness Changes what we see. A mere reflection of who we want to be. Mirrors… Mirrors… Mirrors Tell me what you see.

Safe-House

My eyes are closed I drift away To a place deep within me Secure, safe, comfortable A safe house within my mind I go there to escape the troubles that I endure I am at peace Blind to all the hatred and the evils that surround me… My mind I am safe from within I am in control of my safe-house… . controlling what I let in my world…

Minefields

The minefields of life never go away. We just have to keep avoiding The explosions Take each step in stride and with alertness and awareness. Watch for Distractions and detours, that keep us off our path. Stay focused, stay True and follow your dream Fulfill your destiny… . And just live life… .

Broken Ground

I walk a journey I traveled before My feet know where to take me Without even a thought I broke the ground here long ago Remembrance of a time from The past A time of struggle on a barren Land Returning home to lushly place Not recognized I broke ground here long ago I am returning home the break Ground where I began Then lie and rest for this is my end.

Fallen

I soar high above the land I fear not the flight I look below to see the trees I am so high I do not even see the leaves Gliding… Gliding Without fear… . For I am not scared For You are near I soar high to be close to You You are the One I always knew Who would catch me if I fall I fear not… for You are my One and my All I have fallen once before I now have faith That I can soar To my highest and lowest of times You know my struggle You know my mind I am saved by your Grace

Life is hard and to follow Our dreams is even harder… . Time invested… . Years ed… . But you continue to put forward Your best… . You’ve sowed your seeds… . Now they need to flourish… . Pain

Piercing pains overflow my nerves Trickling down to every stem Wanting to be paralyzed Feeling nothing, just limp But the pain is real controlling My every move, breath, and every thought Every movement throbs Down to my bones Leaving no relief Too much to bare… . Pain

Troubled Waters

My life is in turmoil Like troubled water, Rough tides, swaying back and forth Pushing me , but getting nowhere Stuck in a whirl pool off never-ending motion round and round like a shark stalking it’s prey When will the tides stop thrusting me back and forth? Will the calm come for tides to bring still waters?

I’m caught in the middle Of the light and dark In the space between Trapped in obscurity Why am I stranded? In the space between There’s no in or out Just motionless time Endless time… . Trapped within… The Space Between…

My Life In Ruins

I feel like giving up I’m tired , I’m drained From the whirlwind of emotions I’m trying to hold on to my being But the stress of life is pounding Down my spirit I want to stay , but I want to go My heart is drained from my emotional state, Do I, don’t I want to be here In such sorrow and pain. I cry out but no one hears me. For, I do not speak words. Do I, don’t I , will I have the strength , to overcome my thoughts. Thoughts of another place not here, not there trapped between worlds of the living and the dead, I feel numb, I feel hopelessness, I feel that I will succumb to my thoughts of being here, being there, being nowhere but lost, lost , lost.

Trapped Within

We’re here in one place, but not at the same time When did we get here and why can’t we find our way out of this maze. We turn one way there’s an opening , but it’s not real it’s a mirage… keeping us trapped in a cycle of self destruction. Do we hold on to good memories? Do we walk away and start new ones? The more we try , the worse it gets,trapped in this maze of emotional destruction. How do we find our way back to the beginning of not going in and getting trapped within?

My Life

I just want to breathe Relieve the pressure , the tension that ails my heart I close my eyes and think of a place Of peace, security and serenity. If, I Keep them close. I can stay there for all eternity. But, they reopen and I’m back to reality. To my world. My life… .

Biography

I was born in to a military family. I came to the states as an infant. This is where Natasha Raquel Vernon’s journey begins. Growing up in a little country town called Mt Hermon, La. My parents , Avant A and Onshella M Vernon were Educators at Mt Hermon school where I attended K-12th grade. Always embracing me in my endeavors. I began to write poems. Entering into Fair competitions, where I won 1st place. I knew I had something special. I needed to perfect my gift of words. I began keeping journals. Writing anywhere I had time or something to jot my thoughts on. Years past and in 2000, I published my first poem with The International Library of Poetry… Pieces of The Heart.

“Pastime”

I sit and ponder of the days of yesteryear. Will I ever get back to a time of peacefulness, Stableness and happiness, when all things were simple. A playground was my universe and I was its explorer. After graduation, I ed the United States Army Reserve. Where I met my future husband Milton C Williams Jr. Who always encouraged me to go after my dreams. This brings me to where I am today, publishing.

These poems of mine come from deep within my soul. A place where I have yet to discover who I am fully. Words were just thoughts lingering around in my heart and mind. At that time, they were being kept locked away in the depths of my inner self waiting to be heard. That’s when I found my medium and it was poetry. My poems are intended for any and every one. The poems can be read silently to oneself or aloud to any willing listeners who wants to hear my messages. Some of the poems come from joy, pleasure, and satisfaction. While some stem from sadness, depression, and anxiety. These poems are the roots which have been planted within me by my pure raw emotions from the experiences of my life good and bad. My poems are my raw thoughts. I write different types. I write in different states of mind I like to challenge myself to be diversified. I write in many styles to not limit myself. Some may fit your needs, some may not. Each one has its own meaning. One may get one meaning from them while others a different meaning. I like to keep it simple, but complex at times to make you think. Say “umm”. Where is the author going? Challenging your imagination to intertwine with mine.

Deep within my soul, I have words for brewing too be released. It’s like steam from a coffee pot, just waiting its turn to whistle. To let the warmth of the soothing coffee, give you a tingly feeling. My words are to touch your heart and bring you a warm sensation. Leaving an imprint on your mind. Hopefully, to give you the inspiration to “Believe in yourself and your ion for writing”. I write to clear my mind. My writing will hopefully reach you the reader and others that may be experiencing turmoil in their life. Just to reach or touch one soul, ensures me that writing is a good therapy. I wake up and read that every morning. Wanting to start off positive and energetic. I do most of my writing in the wee hours of the morning. I keep a notebook beside my bed, to write down titles as they form in my mind. Sometimes, I just write and the title comes later. Writing is therapeutic. All you need is the tools to put your words upon. I use my IPhone as one of my tools. I email myself, to ensure I don’t lose them. I try to write so my words will touch at least one person. Letting them know they are not alone. That there is someone, always in same boat as you. When, I get in my zone, I can write many poems without stopping. My mind is continuously going, ing words together faster than I can write. Writing has always been a ion of mine. Now, I’m finally going to be published. To share, some of my deepest thoughts. The emotions that I feel, within my soul. Knowing that somewhere out there I am helping someone thru a struggle, a trying moment, an emotional breakdown or just make a smile appear. There’s nothing better than touching someone’s soul and making a change. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts. To let yourself go into another dimension. That’s where I get my best poems, full of emotions and intensity. I let my mind go and just let the words flow from my thoughts. It’s like when you are reading a book and you can’t put it down.
