Dear Principal / Vice Principal , The result of 26th Science Open Merit Test ( SOMT – 2018 ) is in your hand . The test was held on the 11th of February 2018 at 54 centres all over Delhi and N C R . This test was started in the year 1993 by Delhi State Science Teachers’ Forum , which is an Academic Voluntary Organization . The objective of this test was to prepare , motivate and measure the students in Science subjects for the forthcoming CBSE controlled Examination as well as to develop competitive skill among them . We feel very happy and encouraged that this year about 14,000 students ( having secured 45% and above marks in IX class) from about 300 Private Unaided , Govt. Aided , NDMC , Kendriya Vidyalaya and Govt. schools enrolled for SOMT – 2018 . The test papers were evaluated by the experienced and qualified examiners appointed by DSSTF . All care have been taken in finalizing and compiling the result . All those students who have secured 105 and above marks ( out of maximum 150 ) have been placed in the Merit list. They will be given certificates of merit and a badge each as token of meritorious candidature . Like previous year , Five Toppers of SOMT 2018 will be given a scholarship of Rs. 10000/= each per year for two consecutive years provided they pursue Science Stream at +2 stage. Top ten position holders among them will be presented cash prizes and mementoes , as announced earlier . Appreciation certificates will also be given to 10% toppers of total appearing students from every school . Due remuneration has been given to the examiners , invigilators , centre supdts. etc. who rendered their valuable services , co-operation and guidance to conduct the test successfully . We express our sincere thanks to the principals , parents and students for their whole hearted co-operation and encouragement , as a result of which SOMT has attained credibility and popularity in just twenty five years . Suggestions for further improvement are welcome . We look forward for greater and co-operation from you , for future also .
