3 Disassembly and Assembly

3 Disassembly and Assembly This section describes the disassembly and reassembly sequences for this monitor. Warning: As this monitor has parts that are sensitive to static electricity, be careful when handling them.

3-1 Disassembly Caution: 1. Turn the monitor of before beginning the disassembly process. 2. When disassembling the monitor, do not use any metal tools except for the provided jig. 3. Disassemble the monitor carefully as directed in the following procedures. Description

1. Place a soft cloth on the table and place the monitor onto it with the back part facing forwards. Unscrew the base from the monitor

2) remove the screws on the left side for front cover &back cover

5. Turn the monitor over and insert your hands into the top of the monitor at the center and separate the front cover in the direction of the arrow as shown in the figure.

6. Turn the monitor over again to remove the back cover .

Remove the SHIELD-LAMP. Firstly hold chassis with one hand and bend the shielding in the direction of the arrow as shown in figure to unhook the shielding from the chassis. Caution: The SHIELD-LAMP is sharp.

4. Troubleshooting 4-1 Troubleshooting 1. Check the power state and the cable connections. Check the connections of the power and signal cables. Check whether the function button operates normally. 2. Check “TEST GOOD” OSD - The Purpose and Function of the self-test A self-test has been added to easily recognized whether the monitor has fault or not and consequently to minimize customer claims for non-malfunctions of the product. - How to perform a self-test Press the menu button in the DPMS state, and determine whether the monitor is normal or not.

No screen

Determine according to the output message. - Check 5V of main board and IP board

Focus fault

Determine according to dimming level of the "TEXT GOOD" message. - Check and LVDS output

Screen trembling

Determine according to trembling level of the message window. - Check and LVDS output

Other simple diagnostics ÆNo power (No video and Function LED does not work) Check connection lamp wire, LVDS cable, function cable. Disconnect inverter connector and check 5V and 25V of IP board connector. ÆIf it does not operate, IP board is inferior goods. Or BL_EN pin connect to 5V. If is not on, IP board inferior goods. IP board operate normally: Check + 5V_ signal. ÆIf it operates normally, is inferior goods. & IP board operates normally: check main board and function board.

Notes: 1. Set custom mode as follows before beginning a repair. Resolution: 1360 x 768 H-frequency: 47.7 KHz V-frequency: 60 Hz 2. If the screen is blank, check whether the power cord is connected correctly. 3. 4-2 When the Power Does Not Turn On

Symptom

Major checkpoints

- W hen turning on the Power button after connecting the power cable, the LED at the front of the monitor does not operate. - W hen turning on the Power button after connecting the power cable, the LED at the front of the monitor does not operate. - Check the IP board power fuse and the IP board output power. - Check the connections for the IP board and the Main board inside the monitor. - Check the Main board power part and also check whether there is any abnormal output at any of the other output terminals.

Check the connection status for the function assy. Is DC 5V measured at pins 1, 2 of the CN101 connector when pins 3, 4 are 0K? ok

Diagnostics

NG Replace the IP board. NG

Is DC 3.3V measured at pin 3 of U101 when pin 2 is DC 5V? ok Is DC 1.8V measured at pin 3 of U102 when pin 2 is DC 3 3V?

Check the circuits related to U101. NG Check the circuits related to U102.

ok Check and replace the Main board.

Caution

Make sure to disconnect the power before working on the IP board.

Symptoms and Actions

Symptom: A full white screen is displayed regardless of the signals when turning on the monitor. Cause: This error occurs when only lamp power is supplied and the video signals are not input to the due to an LVDS cable connection error. Action: Replace the LVDS cable or connect the cable correctly so that the video signals can be supplied to the .

Checking the Code Version

1. Checking the MCU code version and checksum after entering SVC Mode. 2. Entering SVC Mode - Adjust the Brightness and Contrast values to 0. - Hold down the Enter button for five (5) seconds. - The SVC Function OSD is displayed. - To exit the SVC Function, turn the power off. 3. Safe Mode - When the input signal is higher than the ed frequency of the product, safe mode gives s some time (one minute) to change the video card settings to the Recommended Mode settings.
