Personal Pollution Tissues with Issues!

Tree of Life
The root system represents our constitution and is affected by – mental and emotional stress, nutritional deficiencies, physical trauma, toxic overload.
The trunk represents the biological terrain and the branches represent our body systems. Dis ease happens in body systems. If we only prune the branches – they grow back. We must ensure the root system is healthy.

In acute illness, the body is always congested with metabolic toxins.
Colds and flu Fever Sore throats Ear aches Acute headaches
Metabolic wastes are byproducts of cellular activity
Illnesses that may involve environmental toxins…
Allergies Asthma Autism Birth defects Cardiovascular disease Cancer Migraine Fatigue
Kidney Diseases Learning disabilities – ADD/ADHD, senility Liver disease Obesity Skin disorders – eczema, psoriasis, rashes
It is likely that all chronic illness involves toxicity
Sources of Toxicity
1. Food – Natural allergens, agricultural chemicals, additives / preservatives, processing methods (white foods), cooking methods (microwaves, high heat, pasturization)
2. Indoor pollution – fabrics (carpets, upholstery, clothing), building materials (solvents, glue, formaldehyde, paint), cleaning supplies, personal care products, yard care and insect control
These items “gas off ”. Use house plants to help detoxify the air.
3. Air pollution 4. Water – industrial contamination (run off), water treatment (chlorine, fluoride, bromides) ( use iodine to flush cells ) 5. Nuclear radiation 6. Electromagnetic pollution (computers, microwave ovens, radar, substations, cell phones)
The umbilical cord blood of the average newborn harbours around 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants. ( Dr. Julian Whitaker )
Detoxifying our body! Use the body’s chimneys
The Primary eliminative channels - Gastrointestinal tract - Urinary tract
The Secondary eliminative channels - skin ( sweat glands & oil ducts ) - respiratory tract
Primary channels - Liver and Colon
The Liver filters toxins out of the blood coming from the digestive tract. The Liver converts toxins into water soluble substances. The smaller ones are sent through the kidney. The Liver eliminates larger toxins into the digestive tract via the bile. The bile binds with a fiber to be sent out.
Primary channels – enzyme detoxification
As we break food down metabolic byproducts are formed and microbial endotoxins are created as byproducts of bacteria. Drugs and chemicals and lipid soluble toxins are stored in the liver.
Phase 1 Detoxification begins. There are 50 different enzymes which electrically charge toxins by adding or eliminating electrons. The charge can be positive or negative
Nutritional requirements of phase 1 detoxification
Beta-carotene Vitamins B1, C, E Minerals – Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Sulfur, Zinc Choline Fatty acids Lecithin Methionine
Phase 2 detoxification
This is a process where enzymes add chemical groups to toxins. This process is called conjugation and makes the toxins water soluble so they can be excreted by the kidneys. Molecules of high molecular weight are excreted through bile. Conjugates are amino acids, sugars, glutathione, methionine, sulfur, and acetyl Co-A
Nutritional requirements for phase 2 detoxification
Vitamins – Folic Acid, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C Minerals – Germanium, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Selenium, Sulfur, Zinc Amino acids – Cysteine, Glycine, L-Glutathione, Taurine N-acetyl-cysteine
If there are not enough Phase 2 nutrients then Phase 1 byproducts can make people sicker
Secondary eliminative channel Sweat – rids the body of waste products 2 types of sweat glands 1. Apocrine glands – armpits, pubic area, scalp secrete sweat that contains fats and other organic compounds ( they combine with bacteria to produce odour) 2. Eccrine glands – number over 2 million scattered all over the body. Activated by heat, stress and emotions. They secrete a watery sweat up to 2 liters a day. Sweating mobilizes toxins stored in the fat. (alcohol and tobacco are noticeable as they come out of pores)
In a sauna the Eccrine glands can pump out 2 liters of sweat in 15 minutes.
Cleansing Approaches
1. Fasting – use for acute illness - toxins are eliminated quickly because enzymes used to digest food can digest toxins instead 2. Tissue irritation – stimulants (capsicum), stimulant laxatives ( buckthorn, cascara sagrada ) stimulant diuretics (Juniper berries, Buchu ) Stimulants do not nourish and can deplete. 3. ive absorption – fiber absorbs toxins; poultices or drawing baths (epsom salts); saunas, ion cleanses 4. Nourishment – tonic herbs (red clover clears blood), parsley, dandelion; Nutrients ( vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids); mild food (juice fasts and fruit)
Ion Cleanses
Tools
Water – most important tool of all, needed by every eliminative system Fiber – absorbs toxins from colon and bile from liver, bulks and lubricates stool, promotes growth of friendly bacteria (Psyllium, Flax seeds, slippery elm) Enzymes – breaks down undigested foodstuffs, reduces toxic build-up, improves intestinal absorption of nutrients Cleansing formulas – herbs – aid in liver detoxification, improve kidney function, aids in lymphatic flow and cellular detox
More tools
Parasite herbs – Black walnut, Wormwood, cloves, Caprylic acid Iodine – kicks halogens (flouride, chlorine, bromide) out of the body Heavy metal detox – fiber, essential fatty acids (bind the toxins), ion cleanses Energy – Vitamin B complex Tissue and Lymphatic – rebound exercise, red clover, oregon grape, cleavers, parsley (fluid retention) Probiotics - restore healthy bowel bacteria
More tools
Avoid mental and emotional toxicity Forgive the past and let go of all grudges, resentments, anger as quickly as possible Do things to relax and de-stress – massage, baths, recreation, exercise, adequate sleep Get out of situations that cause stress or drain your energy
Let go of the things in life that poison us.
Cellulite
Numerous studies suggest that 90% of women will develop cellulite at some point in their life. It is not a disease of only the overweight. Obesity causes an increase of both the size of fat cells and the number of fat cells Cellulite involves structural changes in the middle layers of the skin altering the appearance and texture of skin but also impacting body function.
Cellulite is associated with venous insufficiency – poor blood return from legs and feet back to the heart. Patients complain of heaviness and cramps in the lower limbs and pain in areas of cellulite deposits. It is strongly related to higher circulating levels of estrogen which encourages fat circulating in the blood to be deposited into the fat cells below the skin. The fat cells become enlarged and irregular in shape and cause added pressure to local blood vessels.
This slows blood flow and forces fluids and protein to leak out of blood vessels into the space between the cells of the body. Limited circulation means decreased oxygenation. (Hypoxia) Hypoxia combines with the leakage of protein and fluids and stimulates fibroblasts which are cells that are responsible for putting together macromolecules for the cell such as collagen and elastin. This causes abnormal thickening to the middle layers of skin that result in dimpling, padding and orange peel appearance.
Once the fat is deposited into the fat cells below the skin under the influence of estrogen, that fat is locked into place and leads to cellulite formation. There are various types of cellulite – water deposit and fatty deposit. Water deposit type is more spread out. Water and some fat penetrates the tissues and saturates them. Cells grow to 2 and 3 times their size. Estrogen allows more water and sodium into cells causing hypoxia.
Fatty deposit is the “orange peel” cellulite causing lack of blood flow and the skin layers deteriorate. Fat cells bind together causing fluid retention and saturation of capillary veins. In the final stage there are clumps of fat surrounded by hard protein layers. We can feel hard nodules by pinching the skin. This can be painful especially when there is fluid retention in the legs.
