Assessment Strategies
Suggest ideas: Literature can be a search for truth. Death is universal, it is one of the great unknowns. We create art in order to make sense of our place in the world. 2) Read “Late Landing” pg 206 out loud. Think pair share: What is the significance of the title. What is the significance of the location of the speaker at the beginning of the poem? Examples of effective use of imagery How does the poet use contrast effectively in the poem. 3) Read the poem “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” on page 207. Create a Venn Diagram comparing how the two poems deal with the subject of death. Offer two choices of Venn Diagrams: blank and tiered. Speaker, Form, Mood/Tone, Figurative language, Imagery, Form
