SIGNIFICANCE OF CASE  India’s biggest crime story after nithari serial killing case of 2006,the double murder case created ripples in the media world.

 News channel made special programmes for this murder case 40 hours out of total 92 hours prime time of the from 19:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs between may 16 and june 7.

THE CASE  On the morning of May 16, 2008, Aarushi Talwar, 14 year; daughter of a successful dentist couple, was found dead with her throat slit.  Suspicion immediately fell on the family's live-in manservant, Hemraj a 45 - yr –old Nepalese national.  Noida police announced a reward on giving the information on Hemraj.

EARLY INVESTIGATION  Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj were very close for Rajesh Talwar’s liking.  Early police report claimed that when Rajesh Talwar came home,he found his daughter and servant in her bedroom in an “ objectionable position”.

TURNING POINT  K.K. Gautam, visited the Talwar’s home to express his condolences, and during his visit he found blood strains on stairs.  Noida police found the dead body of Hemraj, on the terrace.  His wife, Dr. Nupur Talwar accused the Noida police and requested Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

CBI INVESTIGATION  The CBI took over the investigation into the murders of

Aarushi and Hemraj on June 1, 2008, forming a 25member team.  Series of tests ,including narcotic and psychological tests

of Dr Rajesh Talwar,Krishna and other suspects.

The CBI took Dr Rajesh Talwar into judicial custody and tried to grill other suspects in the case.

CBI court has reserved its verdict on the bail plea of Dr Rajesh Talwar.

CBI arrested Krishna for committing the murders with help of Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal, both domestic helps in the neighbourhood.
