No ise “not” dan farklı olarak miktar bildiren sıfat olarak kullanılabilir. “of, my, the” gibi bir belirteç almadan direkt gelebilir.

Both: her iki(si) • There are apple trees on both sides of the river. • Both of the cars were in need of repair. • Both of the girls won’t be coming with us. (yüklem olumsuzsa “only one” anlamına gelir.)

Either: her ikisi, ikisinden biri • You can see apple trees on either side of the river. • Either of you is/are responsible for the mixup.

Neither • You can see apple trees on neither side of the river. • Neither of you has/have been helpful enough to me so far. None en az 3 şeyden; neither ise 2 şeyden bahsederken kullanılır. None sayılmayan isimlerle de kullanılır. Neither kullanılmaz.
