Student banking Student Silver EasyFee The default pricing option on Student Silver is the EasyFee pricing option. With this option you can perform an unlimited number of selected transactions through our self-service channels for a fixed fee of R29,00 a month. For Student Silver, there are no monthly subscription fees for NotifyMe and Online, Mobile and Telephone Banking. Most fees for transactions performed on these channels are included in the monthly service fee. Charges will be levied for immediate interbank payments, notice of payments or reminders, archived statements, tax certificates, stop payments of cheques or debit orders, verification and Lotto purchases. In short, you pay either a fixed fee or a sliding scale fee, which is sometimes called ‘ad valorem’. Fixed fee: When you perform payments at an Absa ATM, you’ll pay a fixed fee per transaction, whether you pay R100 or R1 000. Sliding scale fee: You pay a base fee for the transaction itself plus a fee based on the value of the transaction. For example, if you withdraw R500 from a current at an Absa-ed ATM you’ll pay a R6,00 base fee for the transaction plus R2,00 per R100. Therefore the withdrawal will cost R16,00 (R6,00 + 5 x R2,00). What pricing options are there?
