COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course covers the study of the brief history of dance, fundamental locomotion, axial movements, dance steps and steps patterns. Notation and interpretation of simple dances are included. 3 hours a week, one semester, 3 units.

COURSE OBJECTIVE: A. GENERAL OBJECTIVES: Express one’s emotions through the act of moving rhythmically to an accompaniment B. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1. COGNITIVE: Identify the history of different dances, its fundamental locomotion and axial movement, and also the various dances steps and patterns. 2. AFFECTIVE: Show interest and enjoyment in performing the fundamental locomotion and practice fellowship and unity in-group dancing and socializing. 3. PSYCHOMOTOR: Develop the ability to dance rhythmically with poise, well-coordinated bodily movement and perform the different dances accurately.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE Learn all the requirements needed to earn credit in PE 104. Elucidate the meaning of dance,and rhythmic activities. State the objectives and scope of rhythmic activities.

Distinguish the different locomotor, nonlocomotor movement, its variation and combination. Execute the proper Locomotor, nonlocomotor movement, its variations and combination.
